Medallion Fungicide is Formulated for Performance and Offers Explosive Contact Activity
Medallion fungicide quickly targets pathogen spores to stop the germination of key diseases, including snow mold, anthracnose, bermudagrass leaf spot, and bentgrass dead spot.
Dramatically Reduce Overall Disease Pressure Fast with Medallion Syngenta
Medallion® SC fungicide is now formulated as a liquid suspension concentrate for easier handling and flexible mixing. Its naturally occurring active ingredient (fludioxonil) explodes fungal spores on the leaf, in the thatch, and beneath the soil surface. The suspension concentrate formulation delivers reliable, broad-spectrum control of several key turf diseases, including snow mold, anthracnose, and bentgrass deadspot.
- Derived from a naturally occurring antifungal compound of soil bacteria
- Contact activity protects on the leaf surface, in the thatch, and at the soil surface
- Serves as an excellent rotation product to help delay resistance
The new liquid formulation of Medallion SC enhances usability threefold.
- Mix: Mixes fast and uniformly, which eliminates worries over clogging tanks.
- Measure: Exact measurements are made easily. Now you can measure the exact amount needed.
- Store: a heavy-duty plastic container eliminates worry over moisture or broken bags. The 1-gallon jug is easier to store and handle.
Exploding fungal spores on contact
Medallion SC’s explosive contact activity controls diseases quickly.
- Triggers fungal spores to rapidly absorb water until they literally explode.
- Soil microbes with different protein structures are left unaffected, and trials show that it is approved for use at turf seedlings.
- Contact activity works fast so that fungal spores do not have time to grow and infect the leaf.
Contact+ Activity
Contact+ activity protects on the leaf surface, in the thatch, and at the soil surface, allowing Medallion SC to dramatically reduce overall disease pressure fast.
- On leaf surfaces, a protective shield forms that can stand up to harsh rain and snow cover, which inhibits fast-growing diseases like Fusarium patch during the winter and early spring.
- Bonds quickly to the waxy leaf layer and is rainfast within one hour.
Active Ingredient:
Fludioxonil
- The active ingredient fludioxonil is derived from a naturally occurring antifungal compound of soil bacteria.
- The soil bacteria Pseudomonas pyrocinia produces naturally antifungal metabolites named pyrrolnitrin.

Application:
This chemical may contaminate water through drift of spray in wind. This chemical has a high potential for runoff for several months or more after application. Runoff will be reduced by avoiding application when soils are saturated or forecast for rainfall in the next 48 hours. See label for complete details and application instructions.
Mixing Procedures- Prepare no more mixture than is needed for the immediate operation. Thoroughly clean the spray equipment before using Medallion SC. Agitation is necessary to maintain uniformity of the spray mixture. Maintain maximum agitation throughout the spraying operation. Do not let the spray mixture stand overnight in the spray tank. Flush the spray equipment thoroughly following each use and apply the rinsate to a previously treated area.
Medallion SC Alone: Add 1/3 of the required amount of water to the spray or mixing tank. With the agitator running, add the required Medallion SC into the spray tank all at once. Continue agitation while adding the remainder of the water. Begin application of the spray solution after the material has completely dispersed into the mix water. Maintain agitation until all of the mixture has been applied.
Medallion SC + Tank Mixtures: To determine the physical compatibility of Medallion SC with other products, use a jar test, as described below.
Jar Compatibility Test: Using a quart jar, add the proportionate amounts of the products to 1 qt. of water. Add wettable powders and water-dispersible granular products first, then liquid flowables, and emulsifiable concentrates last. After thoroughly mixing, let stand for at least 5 minutes. If the combination remains mixed or can be remixed readily, it is physically compatible. Once compatibility has been proven, use the same procedure for adding required ingredients to the spray tank.
To determine biological compatibility with other products, mix the products in the desired proportions, apply per label directions on a small area or small number of plants for phytotoxicity before widespread use.
