About Us
Reinders is a family-owned, regional distribution company headquartered in Sussex, Wisconsin. The company's roots run deep tracing back to a general store founded in 1866 in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. Reinders has grown to more than 250 employees at 16 locations in 5 states.
Reinders has cultivated local knowledge of national product lines and carries professional-grade products in a best-in-class online store. We stand by our depth of suppliers, offering residential & commercial irrigation products, chemicals – including herbicides and fungicides, grass seed, turf and landscaping supplies, winter and outdoor living products, as well as Toro Commercial Equipment in key markets.
Spartan Distributors was acquired in 2022 to extend Reinders’ presence into Michigan with locations in Sparta and Auburn Hills. Like Reinders, Spartan has an impressively long history of serving local golf courses and contractors as a Toro equipment, irrigation, and landscape lighting products distributor.
As one of the Midwest's largest full-service distributors of products to the commercial green industry, many customers look to us as their one-stop source for all their product and maintenance needs.

Reinders Turf Conference
Continuing education has been at the core of Reinders’ success since 1973 when we established one of the first and largest independent turf education conferences in the United States. Over 50 years later, our Turf Conference remains a pillar of our commitment to supporting the green industry.
Held every other year, the two-day event brings together over 1,000 green industry professionals and features 35+ expert speakers, 85 exhibitors, and sessions on the latest university research, product innovations, and industry trends to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.
The Reinders Turf Conference is a favorite among our customers, known for its hands-on product demonstrations, insightful seminars, and the beloved tradition of our fresh-made donuts. It showcases our deep expertise and long-standing commitment to serving our customers. At Reinders, we’re proud to be large enough to support your business growth while remaining small enough to know you personally.
The Reinders Difference
In the commercial green industry, the difference between doing it right and doing it wrong can sometimes be measured by a fraction of an inch. Whether it's zeroing in on an exact cutting height, recommending the perfect mix for a spray application, or finding the right rotor arc for your job – knowing the difference makes us different.
We Deliver Value. Something you won’t see on your Reinders invoice is a charge for our expertise. Customers always get valuable answers to the unique problems they face free of charge. Need a fitting we don't carry? We will find it. Need a soil test done? We will do it. Need someone to watch your dog? It’s been done before. Reinders’ reps view going the extra mile as a part of doing better business. Our customers find value in the products and solutions we provide, and that’s why they keep coming back.
In 2016, we launched our online store, a testament to our innovative spirit and commitment to meeting customer needs in a rapidly evolving industry. Just seven years later, we unveiled a newly enhanced Reinders.com – making it easier and more convenient to find the products you need, view custom pricing and real-time inventory, place your orders, and pay for invoices.
We Foster Education. Our Turf Conference, the largest private green industry educational conference in the Midwest, is just one example of how we share our expertise with current and prospective customers. And whether it’s creating custom programs for landscape contractors, golf courses, parks, municipalities, athletic fields, and/or school systems in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Kansas, or Michigan – we know your needs because we work and live in these communities, and we’re here to help educate you, too.
We Have History. Whether you’re looking to bolster your turfgrass program, install seasonal or landscape lighting, grow your profit margin through the addition of outdoor living and winter products, or find the right tools and supplies for your next project, Reinders has been a premier supplier to the commercial green industry for nearly two centuries.
We Are a Family. In an age and industry where turnover has never been higher, Reinders is an example of a green industry supplier with longevity. As a family-owned company, we value work and treat you with respect, compassion, and understanding. At Reinders, you aren’t just another customer.
We Give Back. Few distributors have consistently donated more to the local green industry than Reinders. Our reps serve on boards and associations of local and regional foundations, and we are often a top-tier sponsor of our local customer organizations and events. After all, we care about our local communities and environments just as much as you do.
