Reinders - Landscape 40 Lawn Seed Mix - 25 LB Bag

Reinders Landscape 40 is designed for areas where solid turf and rapid establishment is needed but elite varieties are not required. Landscape 40 combines fine leaf perennial ryegrass, annual ryegrass, creeping red fescue, and bluegrass to provide an overall turf that will sustain its quality in sun or light shade and keep costs to a minimum. Creeping red fescue is fine textured grass that produces a tight dense sod with excellent shade tolerance. Wicked perennial ryegrass quickly forms an attractive turf that is tough and durable, combining a dark green color, a fine leaf texture and improved disease resistance with excellent heat and drought tolerance as well as improved winter hardiness. The varieties of Kentucky bluegrass bluegrass offer winter hardiness with high cold tolerance forming a firm turf with their rhizomous growth habits. Annual ryegrass offers quick establishment to keep soil in place and reduce weed encroachment.

Landscape 40 creates wide adjustability with built in safeguards by combining several species of turf grasses. It is well suited to sun or light shaded areas. It is ideal for situations requiring rapid establishment and quick ground cover. Landscape 40 requires low to medium fertility. The varieties in this mixture have good disease and insect resistance and are very popular on all soil types.

Maintenance

Landscape 40 is designed for low fertility requirements, but will achieve a higher turf quality with 2-3 fertilizations per season. A soil test is recommended before any fertilization program to determine just what is needed. A mowing height of 2-3" will aid turf tolerance to drought and improve weed resistance. Maintain adequate moisture to ensure growth and keep foliage green.
