Contec DG combines premium turf nutrients and our patented Dispersing Granule (DG) Technology into a homogeneous granule designed to optimize granular applied turf nutrition.

Upon contact with water, each granule disperses into thousands of micro particles that quickly move through the turf canopy into the root zone. This allows for a drier, firmer, residue-free playing surface with less downtime, turning time for WORK into time for PLAY.

Contec DG requires less watering to disperse the nutrient granules allowing for less downtime and a drier and firmer playing surface.

Contec DG melts into the turf canopy. The result is no sticky fertilizer residue which can accumulate on shoes, balls, and equipment.

Contec DG is designed to optimize granular turf nutrition by combining premium nutrients with our Dispersing Granule Technology.

Because Contec DG is homogeneous and disperses into thousands of micro particles, turf managers have the ability to apply Contec DG at low rates and still achieve complete nutrient coverage without speckling.

With over twenty different formulations, Contec DG is designed to meet a wide variety of turf and soil conditions.

Benefits of MUtech:

  • Nitrogen is released through the naturally occurring action of soil microbial activity, helping nutrient performance and soil structure
  • MUtech allows consistently predictable feeding, turf color and growth
  • N release rate is not altered by physical damage to particles or by dispersion
  • Low salt index equals extremely low burn potential with NO fragile coating
  • N release slows as temperatures rise above 90°F, rather than increasing like coated nutrition

Active Ingredient: Plant nutrients derived from urea, methylene ureas, monoammonium phosphate, potassium sulfate, ferrous sulfate and manganese sulfate.

Use Sites:

  • Use ContecDG ® Dispersing Granule Technology 18-9-18 where a high nitrogen and potassium application is desired or when iron and manganese are needed to help correct or prevent deficiencies during the growing season.

Not applicable

40 LBS feeds 14,300 SQ FT (0.33 ACRE) with 0.50 LB N/1,000 SQ FT at the LOW RATE (2.78 LBS/1,000 SQ FT)
40 LBS feeds 7,100 SQ FT (0.16 ACRE) with 1.00 LB N/1,000 SQ FT at the MEDIUM RATE (5.56 LBS/1,000 SQ FT)

Application Rates:

  • LOW: 2.78 LBS/1,000 SQ FT
  • MEDIUM: 5.56 LBS/1,000 SQ FT

  • Apply only as directed during the growing season.
  • Watering in this product will disperse each granule into thousands of particles. This will facilitate the movement of the nutrients into the soil. This particle dispersion will greatly reduce ball, shoe and mower pickup. Cold weather and/or cold water (lower than 45°F / 7°C) can result in slower particle dispersion.
  • Application to wet, close-cut golf turf may result in foliar staining, which will discolor the turf to a brown/black appearance. This can occur even if immediate irrigation or rainfall occurs. It is recommended that this product be applied to dry turf only.
  • Nitrogen Notice: For those states with nitrogen application restrictions, including but not limited to, MD, NH, NJ and VA, do not apply more than 2.78 LBS of this product per 1,000 SQ FT.
  • Phosphate Notice: This lawn/turf fertilizer contains phosphorus and is only for nonagricultural use on (i) turf during its first growing season, (ii) on turf areas being repaired or renovated, and (iii) on turf where a soil test performed within the last 3 years indicates a phosphorus deficiency. This fertilizer is not for the routine maintenance of turf.
  • Immediately after application, apply a minimum of 0.2 inches of water to disperse particles into the root zone. Due to variations in temperature and water pH, best results are achieved by splitting the irrigation into 2 applications at 10-15 minutes apart. This will allow for more thorough particle dispersion into the root zone.

Cool Season Grasses:

  • Apply at the MEDIUM RATE during the growing season.
  • Use the LOW RATE during mid-summer (non-greens usage).
  • Exception: On bentgrass and Poa annua, apply at the LOW RATE if temperatures are 85ºF or above.

See Label for complete application instructions.

  • Store in a clean, dry place.
  • Reseal opened bag by folding top down and securing.
  • Use only clean, dry spreaders.
  • Do not leave unused product in spreaders.
  • This product contains the micronutrient iron for extra greening and to help prevent iron deficiency. Iron may stain concrete and other surfaces. Misapplied product to these surfaces should be removed promptly by sweeping or blowing. DO NOT WASH OFF WITH WATER.
  • Do not apply near water, storm drains or drainage ditches. Do not apply if heavy rain is expected. Apply this product only to your lawn and sweep any product that lands on the driveway, sidewalk or street, back onto your lawn.
