Reward Herbicide Offers Fast-Acting Control for Landscape and Aquatic Maintenance
Reward Aquatic Herbicide provides no-wait control to a variety of aquatic weeds and is ideal for non-selective weed control in turf and landscapes, as well as a trim and edge tool.
Get Fast Aquatic Weed Control That’s Easy on Surroundings
Reward Landscape and Aquatic Herbicide is a non-selective, highly active herbicide to control floating, submerged, and marginal aquatic weeds. Reward provides fast burn-down, works in cold weather, and is rainfast in as little as 30 minutes. The active ingredient, diquat dibromide, has been used successfully in sensitive aquatic areas for over 25 years.
- Once applied, it diffuses rapidly through the cuticle and then throughout the leaf tissue of the weed. The first effects can be seen within an hour.
- Complete control of floating vegetation occurs within one to five days, while submerged weeds require approximately five to 15 days for control.
- Controls more than 15 invasive and nuisance aquatic weed species
- No swimming or fishing restrictions following application
Speed:
Reward Landscape and Aquatic herbicide acts very quickly on green, photosynthesizing plant tissue. Reward combines with the photosynthetic process within treated plants to produce highly reactive free radicals. These free radicals, in turn, form superoxides that destroy cell membranes and cell walls, leading to the overall desiccation of treated plants. Visual results may occur in a few hours under optimal conditions or take a couple of days under cloudy, overcast conditions.
Temperature:
While systemic herbicides are slowed by cold weather, Reward remains fast. Reward is effective against winter annuals such as Poa annua, corn speedwell, chickweed, and others. Even during cold winter months, visible burndown is apparent in a matter of days, not weeks.
Water:
Reward is rainfast in as little as 30 minutes due to its speed of uptake into the plant. With Reward, unexpected showers will not waste your time and money. Reward also offers advantages in reduced water volumes. Most contact herbicides recommend water volumes of at least 100 GAL water/ACRE. Reward may be applied in as little as 15 GAL/ACRE but performs best when applied between 20 and 40 GAL/ACRE for broadcast applications. However, it should be noted that it is recommended that Reward be applied in greater than 60 GAL water/ACRE to give coverage of very dense weed populations or provide enhanced turf desiccation.

Frequently Asked Questions about Reward:
How long does it take to see results?
From a few hours to a few days, but generally one week or less. Control is dependent on weed type and environmental conditions (sunlight, water temperature).
Why doesn’t my applicator treat all areas at one time?
If your problem area is small, one application is all that may be necessary. But if you have a larger weed problem, applications may be made in stages. This method allows the weeds to decompose gradually without lowering oxygen levels needed by fish.
Is Reward toxic to wildlife?
Based on 45 years of data, the EPA has concluded that Reward poses no unreasonable risk to aquatic organisms, fish, or wildlife.
Why does the applicator wear protective gear if the product is not toxic?
The applicator wears this equipment as a precaution when handling the chemical in its concentrated form. Once the product has been applied, it dilutes quickly, allowing for regular activity to resume.
When can water be used after treatment with Reward?
When used per label instructions, water is safe to use with minimal time restrictions depending on activity.
