Reinders General 30 Lawn Seed Mix will give a satisfactory performance on areas where economy is more important than aesthetics. The annual and perennial ryegrasses provide rapid germination and soil stabilization until the other grasses in the mixture develop. Kentucky Bluegrass produces a well-knit sod and withstands moderate traffic. Creeping Red Fescue provides good ground cover at low maintenance levels and adds shade tolerance to the mixture. This mixture provides a functional ground cover that will persist on a long-term basis and require a minimum of maintenance.
For Use On
General 30 Lawn Seed Mix is designed for new seedings of large areas where initial cost must be kept low and where elite turf quality is not required. Major areas of use include:
- School grounds
- Parks
- Cemeteries
- Highway roadsides
- Utility turf areas
- This mixture is not recommended for use in situations subject to intensive cultural management or traffic
Maintenance
Maximum density, drought tolerance, and resistance to weed encroachment are achieved with a mowing height of 2-3" and 1-2 annual fertilizations. This mixture will provide functional ground cover when fertilized less frequently. It is recommended that this mixture not be fertilized more than twice per season.
