Profile Porous Ceramic (PPC) Greens Grade soil amendment permanently improves sand-based root zones.

Profile® Greens Grade™ is an inorganic soil amendment proven on thousands of greens across the country to resist compaction, eliminate localized dry spot, promote drainage and facilitate healthy root systems that leave turf less prone to disease and other maintenance problems. A kiln-fired porous ceramic from a unique mineral deposit in Mississippi, PPC replaces peat in any sand-based root zone.

A PPC particle is 74% pore space with 39% capillary (water) pores and 35% non-capillary (air) pores. Blended with sand in a greens mix, Profile Porous Ceramics improve water- and nutrient-holding capabilities, increase oxygen levels at the root zone, and facilitate drainage when soils are saturated. The particles also hold water and release it as needed to the plant, delaying the need for irrigation. The Greens Grade particle is ideal for sand-based construction and is available in two distinct colors–Natural for use in construction, and Emerald to topdress and disguise worn areas in turf.

PPC Greens Grade meets the specifications outlined in the USGA’s Recommendations for a Method of Putting Green Construction and has been tested at major universities across the country.

Porous Ceramic Emerald offers you a convenient, effective tool to protect and strengthen turf in high-traffic areas prone to wear and compaction. It helps mask worn areas while absorbing water to prevent muddy conditions that can lead to further turf damage and player complaints. Players themselves help work the particles into the soil with their golf shoes as they go about the game. Profile Porous Ceramic Emerald is especially effective when applied as a topdressing prior to any event that will increase and concentrate traffic in specific areas of your course. Porous Ceramic Emerald is ideal for:

• Preventing compaction and treating worn areas along the edges and ends of cart paths
• Absorbing water around greens to eliminate soggy spots
• Protecting turf and aiding in its recovery around hospitality tents and on fairway crossing areas during golf tournaments or other events
• Keeping highly visible, high-traffic areas around the clubhouse from becoming worn and compacted
• Eliminating puddles and drying up muddy areas on any part of the course
• Adding color and strength to turf on bunker faces and walk up areas to greens and tees
• Making every point of access/egress better prepared to handle the stress of heavy traffic

PROFILE GREENS GRADE™ EMERALD PROBLEM SOLVING
Ice Removal:

• 1. Apply Profile Greens Grade Emerald at a rate of 50 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. on the surface.
• . Depending on the amount of sunshine and temperature, you will see the ice start to pit and melt.
• 3. The ice will reach a point where you can either remove the pitted ice areas or let it continue to melt until the ice is gone.

Masking Mid-Season Aerification Practices:

• 1. Perform desired core-aerification, DryJect or drill-n-fill practices.
• 2. Backfill aeration holes with 100% Profile Greens Grade Emerald typically requiring 250 LBS per 1,000 SQ FT
• 3. After backfilling the aeration holes, it is important to immediately water to reach field capacity
