Reinders Athletic Field 80-20 elite seed blend is ideal for use in new or re-seeding in athletic fields, tees and other areas where fine turf blue grass is desired. This mixture is of all new elite and aggressive Kentucky blue grasses. This blend is very traffic tolerant. The bluegrasses have aggressive rhizome systems that spread to repair damaged areas such as divots. They knit a tight sod to produce uniform secure footing. All have excellent spring and fall vigor with superior midsummer performance. They are also resistant to diseases common to intensively managed turf areas. Blue Velvet is a new variety that is deep green, dense and fine leafed, and has rated high in NTEP trails. The Granite is a variety that has been in the top performers at the national Turfgrass seed test trials. It has deep green color but is slow to green up in spring. Replicator and Fiesta 4 ryegrasses have superior wear tolerance, excellent winter hardiness and a vigorous deep penetrating root systems capable of withstanding compacted soils

It is excellent for use where a combination of rapid establishment, elite quality, disease resistance and traffic tolerance are primary concerns. The mixture blends well with most commercially raised sod and is useful where a combination of seed and sod is used to complete the landscape.
Reinders Athletic Field 80-20 elite seed blend will provide maximum quality and recuperative potential when fertilized a minimum of three times yearly. Optimum quality is realized with 4 to 5 fertilizations per season depending upon length of season and soil type. Athletic fields should be routinely maintained at a height of 2-3".
