Position Description

We are seeking a Store Manager for our Olathe, KS location. This position will oversee the sales and operations at this service center as it relates to the general landscape, irrigation, golf and lawn-care customers. The Manager will work with Reinders' Field Sales personnel, Operations Manager and Product Managers to plan and implement programs to grow the business at this store. The Store Manager will execute the companies' operational objectives and strategies to protect the stores' assets and ensure efficiencies.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attain sales goals and objectives thru effective utilization of company assets and staff.
  • Actively manage sales transactions, including counter/phone sales and expediting deliveries.
  • Determine pricing initiatives for non-key accounts. Be a communication conduit and secondary contact between key accounts and field sales representatives.
  • Manage store processes pertaining to daily store functions -- paperwork processing, bank deposits, facility cleanliness, etc.
  • Ensure inventory, merchandising and marketing coordinates with the business seasonality and customer needs.
  • Maintain monthly managerial reporting to meet set standards.
  • Train, develop and manage performance of direct reports.
  • Manage inventory accuracy and coordination of replenishment.
  • Oversee maintenance needs of facility interior/exterior along with any fleet assigned to this facility.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years or more experience in irrigation, landscaping, nursery, related distribution or management in retail sales.
  • Proficient in Windows environment, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Able to multi-task, while managing details and prioritizing a changing workload
  • Self-motivated, strong communication and leadership skills.

Position Description

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Majority of the work day will be making deliveries in a company provided vehicle.
  • Pulling customer orders and loading them onto the delivery vehicle.
  • Delivering orders to jobsite/customer shop and offload by mechanized material handler (burro/donkey), by hand, and/or forklift.
  • Must be able to lift 50-80 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Serve as a liaison between store staff and customers, maintaining professional customer communication in regards to delivery schedule and expectations.

  • Utilize the scheduling system to maintain customer communications throughout the Kansas and Missouri delivery area.
  • Weekly review of all open orders for accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with store staff and store manager regarding inventory needs.
  • Evaluate maintenance needs and repairs, inspect for cleanliness, and schedule preventative maintenance for vehicle fleet.
  • Perform various facility projects to improve efficiencies, appearance, product positioning, and functionality of retail/warehouse spaces.

Education and Experience

  • High School Education or GED Equivalent.
  • Clean driving record and a class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficient in data entry.
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions and read/comprehend written procedures.
  • Must possess strong organization skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Customer service experience desired.
